I’ve always been a bit obsessed with the prose-poem form (I hyphenate the term, but not sure if that’s correct) and I am thrilled to have two new specimens in up and coming publications.
The brilliant UK print magazine Butcher’s Dog (Issue 4) have included a new 2-part prose-poem of mine entitled “The Private Rooms of Stanley Spencer” and I have to say I love the way it looks on the page.
And while we’re on the subject my Kate Bush inspired prose-poem “What I was doing when the house caught fire” will be in the new Split Screen anthology published by north east based publisher Red Squirrel Press. I was lucky enough to see Kate Bush live in London and it’s a lucky coincidence that this poem has appeared at the same time as Bush’s return to the stage. I’ve listened to and respected her music since the late 70s.
